Sometimes it is hard keeping up my Superhero like repair abilities with my family. My son thinks I can fix anything and I would like to keep it that way.

Yesterday my washer went belly up. It would not finish a load of laundry. We had had this Kenmore washer for as long as we have been married, almost 10 years. After a few searches on the internet and some help on http://www.applianceblog.com and after draining most of the water on the floor I was able to pull the pump out. Low and behold there was a lot of junk inside. See pictures. But more importantly there was a twig from our laundry basket, which is falling apart, stuck in the fan blades of  the pump.

Guess I can keep that status up a little longer.

My buddies recently won first place in the LDS Film Festival with their amazing short film about zombies. Well word got out and we were asked to submit the film to the 2nd Annual Ice Block Festival in Afton, Wyoming. So yesterday Ryan, Luke and I loaded up the very speedy fuel efficient dodge charger and made it to Afton in enough time to visit the Star Valley Cheese factory and the famous worlds largest Elk Horn Arch.

The festival was great and we walked out with the coveted 1st place fiction category trophy. Great things are in store for TimberShark Media!
The Men Ohh and did I mention we were able to meet Justin Campbell who played Sgt. Carter in the award winning movie “The Hurt Locker“?

Some of you may know I have a little side job with a few friends. Timbershark Media is a full service media and technology company. We currently have a couple of projects we are working on.

The three other guys in my group decided to enter the 9th annual LDS film festival 24hr marathon, hoping to gain some exposure and to run elbows with other filmmakers. Much to our suprise, we took first place!

About a year ago I started limiting my sugar intake. I lost a bit of weight and I have more energy. So I feel all is lost with the latest release. Dr. Pepper heritage. Made with real sugar. The only place to get this stuff normally is in Dublin Texas. Shipping is insane, so I only treat myself once in a blue moon.

Can’t wait to crack one open!

Just visited the “Glitter Mines” just south of St. George over the Arizona border. apparently they used to mines this crystal gypsum to use in morter to add a sparkle. It was used in the St. George temple. Pretty cool.

I have changed jobs a few times in the past. Usually to try something a little different or to get out of an increasingly unstable environment. I always left with a fairly certain feeling I would continue to be gainfully employed. So far I have been able to “move up” with every new job.

Well, those times have changed. I recently left a job for circumstances that seemed so unimportant. Now I sit at home everyday working on side projects and looking for the next fun job. In the past my resume would stand out for any job I applied for. Now it doesn’t seem to shine so bright. Here is a quote from a job I applied for the other day.

“We’ve received a very large number of responses to our positions and are currently working through them. We’ll contact you if we need you to come in for an interview.”

I can’t tell you how frustrating it is to not hear back from jobs you apply for, but it seems they are getting inundated with so many applicants they can’t get back to them all.

This must be a sign of the times. I know there is an employer out there in need of my amazing skill set. If you are reading this please put up the bat signal or give me a call.

I own a home which is over 50 years old. So you can imagine some of the “home improvements” required each year. Last year I took some nasty old outdoor carpet off our side porch. What I didn’t know was the carpet was keeping the old concrete from crumbling off.

I guess it got to the point I thought it was a hazard and the wife pointed out how trashy it looked. So I bought a sledgehammer at the old home depot which ended up being too small for the job. Even with the 20 pound sledge I borrowed from the neighbor. I have still only put a small dent in the excessively thick concrete.

Then comes the realization I have been sitting in front of a computer far too long and my body is prtesting greatly.

I then started to daydream about finding money buried underneath I could use to pay someone to finished the job for me. Then is progressed to maybe finding a dead body under the porch. Then the city could finish the job for me. Is that weird?

So the score stands, Porch 1 Tyler 0.

Stay tuned for more entertainment as Tyler attempts to talk trash to the porch in order to break it’s will.

Also if anyone has access to a jackhammer or small explosives let me know.
